He is a veteran of the United States Army where he was an engineer for nine years and a Judge Advocate General for eight years.  He served in Operations Desert Shield and Storm and served a tour during Operation Enduring Freedom.

In 1998 he graduated from The University of New Mexico School of Law and started his career with the Office of the District Attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial District.

He has prosecuted and trialed all types of criminal cases representing the State of New Mexico to include homicides, drug crimes, property crimes, white-collar crimes, violent crimes, and juvenile crimes.

He then went on to represent defendants with the Law Offices of the Public Defender for two years again handling all types of felonies to including homicides and other violent crimes. Currently, at The Law Offices of Cameron & Russell, he handles criminal cases in all jurisdictions in New Mexico, mostly focusing on cases arising out of Bernalillo County.

Bill was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. He graduated from Cibola High School and went on to receive his undergraduate education at the University of New Mexico, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in Criminology and Art Studio. After earning his undergraduate degree Bill worked as an insurance agent, specializing in property and casualty insurance policies. A highlight of this vocation was working with people in the community to ensure they would be protected in the midst of tragic circumstances. These experiences continue to pour over into helping Bill represent injured members of the community today.

Bill then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of New Mexico School of Law in December of 2014. While studying for his Juris Doctorate, Bill became a member of the Environmental Law Society and worked as a law clerk at family law and estate-planning firm. He has a particular interest in natural resources and environmental law, as well as personal injury, civil litigation, and insurance law. During his last semester of Law School Bill worked at an insurance defense firm as a law clerk. Now Bill focuses on representing injured people and their families throughout the State of New Mexico. Since admission to the bar in May 2015, Bill has worked as a civil plaintiff’s attorney, and a criminal defense attorney, all while producing successful results for his clients. Bill also represented families in Children’s Court when they were faced with pressing legal consequences and has passionately represented clients in criminal defense matters.

When not practicing law, Bill enjoys playing basketball, working on cars, and participating in several of his son’s sporting endeavors. He loves to mentor young men and women because he knows he didn’t get where he is today without others believing in him and his dreams. Anna Baecker serves as an associate with Cameron and Russell, focusing on civil rights law for the firm. Born and raised in rural northern New Mexico, she graduated from the University of New Mexico summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History. In 2019, Anna earned her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law.

During her time in law school, Anna was a Lead Citations Editor for the Natural Resources Journal. She also served as the secretary for the Women’s Law Caucus and received the Dean’s Award.

When she’s not busy pursuing civil rights cases for Cameron and Russell clients, Anna enjoys cooking delicious meals, visiting friends and family, and spending time with her dog outdoors.
