We are your New Mexico Criminal Defense and Personal Injury Lawyers. With over 30 years of combined experience, you know you’re in good hands.

Personal Injury Lawyers

As personal injury lawyers, the team at Cameron & Russell has the experience necessary to ensure their clients receive fair compensation.

Personal injury lawyers provide legal services to individuals who are injured due to third parties’ negligence. The person may be left with temporary or permanent disabilities that prevent them from returning to work or living a normal life again. There are several types of personal injury cases our team is capable of handling on your behalf.

Motor vehicle accidents are the number-one reason most individuals pursue personal injury claims. The Albuquerque area is known for its distracted drivers, which increases the chances of being involved in a car or truck accident.

Medical malpractice occurs when healthcare practitioners or facilities are negligent in their duty of care to patients.

Dog bites are another source of personal injury claims. Victims can be left with debilitating physical injuries and emotional trauma.

Premises liability refers to unsafe physical conditions at residential or commercial properties. Property owners who fail to maintain their facilities or provide adequate notice of safety issues are liable if someone is hurt due to their inaction.

Slip and fall accidents are another common reason for personal injury claims. They can occur on a residential or commercial property or while on-the-job.

Criminal Justice Lawyers

The team at Cameron & Russell has the expertise to help clients navigate through the criminal justice system in Albuquerque. We ensure you receive fair representation and the best criminal defense possible. Some of the criminal offenses we are qualified to handle include:

Robbery involves the taking of something by force and can be prosecuted in New Mexico as a felony. Complicating matters are rules that govern additional sentencing if the estimated value of the stolen property exceeds a set threshold.

Battery, as defined by New Mexico law, involves unlawful and intentional touching or physical force against someone without their consent.

Fraud charges are warranted when someone intentionally misappropriates or takes anything of value belonging to an individual or business through unscrupulous means.

Assault laws in New Mexico are pretty harsh. Offenders can receive up to six months in jail for slapping or hitting another person if they decide to press charges.

Possession of a controlled substance is considered a drug crime in New Mexico. Prison sentences are the norm for persons charged with possession, even for those caught with small amounts of an illegal drug.

Harassment is a serious crime that involves the deliberate mental and emotional torment of another person for no legal purpose. Harassment and stalking sometimes occur at the same time, so a defendant can be charged with both.

The expungement of criminal records involves their removal from public view. Once a person has their criminal record expunged, they legally can answer “no” when asked if they have ever been arrested or convicted of a crime.

Criminal Law

Being arrested for an alleged criminal offense is scary. The criminal court system in Albuquerque, New Mexico is complex and can leave defendants unsure of how to best represent themselves to effectively fight the charges. Failure to obtain legal representation can cause dire consequences, such as stiff prison sentences and steep fines. Contact our offices today to schedule a free consultation to discuss your case.
